Terms of Service

Last updated: May 18, 2026

By using DOTs Calculator you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, please do not use the calculator or any other part of the site.

Not Medical Advice

The DOT physical calculator and all blog guides on this site are educational resources only. They are not medical advice, not a medical diagnosis, and not a substitute for an examination performed by a medical examiner listed on the FMCSA National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME). Only a certified medical examiner can issue a Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Form MCSA-5876) under 49 CFR 391.41.

The readiness score, recommended certification period, and any notes the calculator returns are estimates based on the public FMCSA medical standards. They do not predict the outcome of your actual exam. The examiner may consider factors our calculator cannot see, including medication history, full physical exam findings, sleep apnea screening, mental-health screening, and clinical judgment.

Not a Replacement for FMCSA Guidance

FMCSA rules and Cardiovascular Advisory Panel recommendations are updated periodically. We make a good-faith effort to reflect the current standards, but you should always verify the active regulation at fmcsa.dot.gov before relying on any number. Your medical examiner has the final authority.

Accuracy & Availability

We strive for accuracy but do not warrant that every calculation or guide is free from error, omission, or outdated information. The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Use of the site and its results is at your own risk. If you believe a calculation is wrong, please report it so we can correct it.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, DOTs Calculator, its owners, authors, and contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site. This includes, without limitation, damages related to a failed DOT physical, a denied Medical Examiner’s Certificate, lost wages, lost driving privileges, insurance outcomes, or any medical condition you believe the calculator missed or misjudged.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to scrape, reverse-engineer, overload, or reuse the site in a way that impairs service for other drivers. You may link to our pages freely and quote short excerpts with attribution to DOTs Calculator.

Intellectual Property

The site design, code, written guides, and SVG diagrams are the property of DOTs Calculator unless attributed to a third party. Regulatory text quoted from FMCSA, the U.S. Department of Transportation, and similar agencies is public-domain government content and is used under those agencies’ reuse guidelines.

Third-Party Links

We link to FMCSA, the National Registry, and other official sources for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices.

Changes

We may update these terms as the site or regulations evolve. The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
